DUNDALK LADIES BULLS V DUNDALK BULLS 'B' TEAM

BULLS EXTRAVAGANZA

It was a Bulls extravaganza on Sunday evening, when the Dundalk Ladies Bulls took on the Dundalk Bulls 'B' Team at the Dundalk Ice Dome, and it was a very competitive and intresting game, as both the Ladies and the Men were fighting for the puck.

The 1st periord started fast, and both teams were left fighting for the puck throughout. Sony Mc Eneaney got a 2 minute penalty for roughing midway through the period, and her co-players down very well on defending their zone. Both the ladies and the men were getting shots on goal, but both goaltenders stood solid. Nothing could separate these two teams in the 1st period, making the scoring at the end of the 1st period 0-0.

The Bulls 'B' hit the ground running, with a well developed goal from Rian Larkin. But the Ladies weren't long getting their finger out, and reacted with a superb goal from Jana Gerkina, assisted by the young and talented Catherine O'Reilly, making the girls and the fans alike go wild!

Both of the goal scorers in this period remained the only scorers. So it was 1-1 going into the 3rd and final period, and it was tense stuff at the Dundalk Ice Dome.

Both teams were getting decent shots on goals at the start of the 3rd period, but once again it was the Bulls 'B' that came out first, this time with Liam Burke. The Ladies tried to mend their mistakes, with Lorna Hoey coming close to the net, but Sean Pepper stood tall. The 3rd goal for the 'B' team came from the Oldie of the team, Derek Tuite, and this was his 1st time back with the Bulls this season. And the goals just kept coming, with Shane Muldoon scoring a workless goal.

The Ladies rounded up their troops, as head coach Vytas Lukescivious calling time out, and giving the Ladies a loud team talk. Following on from that, the Ladies seemed to popping into the penalty every two minutes, with the Ref Mark Pepper not hesitating to use his whistle. The Ladies goaltender Erica Murphy was doing her team proud, saving every shot that was coming from any man late in the 3rd period, and should fit into the squad nicely, from her successor Seanna Conway. Final Score 5-1 Ladies.

The Ladies will now regroup and will be training extremely hard this week, as they take on the Scotland Ladies National Team.
